Without a doubt, Snæfellsnes is one of the most memorable and beautiful regions in the entire country, truly worthy of your last day on this guided summer tour.

One of the peninsula’s most iconic sites is the ‘mountain like an arrowhead’, Kirkjufell, made famous from Season 7 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. As the town landmark of Grundarfjörður, Kirkjufell is found on the peninsula’s northern shore and holds the title as Iceland’s “most photographed mountain” due to its unique and striking aesthetic. The mountain reaches a height of 463-metres and is often captured alongside its resident waterfall, Kirkjufellsfoss.

You’ll next make a visit to the black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur, found at the base of Snæfellsjökull glacier. We booked with Marina Travel and they did an excellent job. We went to Blue Lagoon and even added a 30 minute in water massage for my husband. The driver was fabulous, even shared some Iceland history with us on the way there. Would definitely recommend them.

04-Oct-2022

We just returned from a 14 day self-driving tour organized for us by Marina Travel. They provided access to a 9-passenger van, hotels w/breakfast and a itinerary/route with numerous points of interest along the way . Everything they did for us worked out very well, and we're very happy with our experience. I particularly liked staying at the Fosshotels. We encountered a weather concern, and discovered that they operate their offices 7 days a week, which is very comforting in a foreign environment. I'd give them an A+.

Marina Travel did a great job coordinating our trip to the Blue Lagoon!. After being unable to book our Lagoon tickets directly via the website, we booked via Marina Travel through Orbitz. They demonstrated excellent communication. We loved our experience.

EDIT: It’s unfortunate to now...

17-Aug-2021

EDIT: It’s unfortunate to now see the owners tell me I am a liar. We did not hang up nor yell on the phone. Good business practice would be taking the time to speak with me and come to a mutual conclusion if I somehow was misunderstanding so deeply. It’s what makes people change their mind on reviews, etc. Plus - I wish I had a single driver ask me if I were going with Marina Tours. Probably wouldn’t have sat there for over an hour. Ah well. I think this place is a scam and doesn’t exist. Unfortunately, this place was as unprofessional as they get. We were not informed what time to pick up our tour bus and it took 3 calls and 1 email to get ahold of a single person. They told us finally to meet at 8:30am at our bus stop. We got there at 8:20, and asked every single tour bus driver if they were part of Marina Tours for blue lagoon and had our party name on the list. 100% of them said no. We called Marina Tours and the woman said that some driver kept calling for us - look, there were 3 people looking. It never happened. They said they’d send another bus to our stop at 9. Then at 9:30. No one came (only a bus for a troll tour and for a horse tour). Called again, they said they were looking for us - never happened. Said we weren’t at bus stop 3, we took a picture of the stop. It was 3. Now they won’t give us our refund because we “didn’t cancel 24 hours before” - kind of hard to know that a tour company will never show up or do what you paid for 24 hours ahead. We kept our cool and the lady just ended up hanging up on us. So, beware. I’m not sure this place is even real.

29-Jul-2023

Booked a day tour for our big group with Marina travel five month before our tour and paid 50% deposit. They canceled our tour 2 month before our trip due to their operational issue. unacceptable reason!! Spent time and more money to find replacement in a short time. It was very intense and upsetting. Not a reliable company, watch out when you book.
